- The pattern above is much like that of C. rubriventris, but the plastron is yellow instead of deep orange or red, and is marked with brown reticulations.

- The carapace of an adult example is about 12 inches long.
- Distribution
- The type specimens were taken near Mobile Bay, Alabama, which locality points to the species displaying a tendency to frequent salt marshes.
Carapace rather high and globular in the front. Head of fair size.
