Viburnum prunifolium. Honeysuckle Family.

A tall shrub or small tree. Leaves.--Oval; finely and sharply toothed. Flowers.--White; small; in flat-topped clusters. Calyx.--Five-toothed. Corolla.--Wheel-shaped; five-lobed. Stamens.--Five. Pistil.--One. Fruit.--Berry-like; oval; black, or with bluish bloom. In may one of the most beautiful and noticeable of our white-flowered shrubs or trees is the black haw. Its flat, circular flower-clusters are usually very perfect and spotless. They are massed abundantly along the country lanes.
