2026 Editor's Note: Zanclognatha lituralis, commonly known as the lettered zanclognatha, is a litter moth of the family Erebidae. While the text notes an Appalachian distribution, the species is actually found across North America from Wisconsin to Nova Scotia, extending south to Florida and Texas. Its larvae feed on detritus, including dead leaves. (Ed: DS 2026-08-11)
