The moth is found from the Atlantic to the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and Wyoming.

2026 Editor's Note: Schinia trifascia is commonly known as the three-lined flower moth. While the text notes its range extends to the Rocky Mountains, it is also found as far south as Florida and west to Arizona. The larvae typically feed on plants such as Brickellia, Eupatorium and Liatris. The species was first described by Jacob Hübner in 1818. (Ed: DS 2026-08-11)
