Pantographa Limata

Pantographa limata

Plate XLVII — Pantographa Limata is Fig. 38

The insect occurs from Maine to Patagonia.

← Conchylodes Platinalis Agathodes Monstralis →

2026 Editor's Note: The larva of the Pantographa limata moth constructs a cigar-like nest by cutting and rolling a leaf toward the midrib. This translucent green caterpillar secures its home with silk "stitching" and feeds from within as a leaf skeletonizer. While named for the basswood tree, it has also been observed on oaks and rock elm. (Ed: GG 2026-08-11)
