2026 Editor's Note: While this text identifies the habitat of the Pygarctia abdominalis as Florida, the species is actually found across the United States from New Jersey south to Florida and west to Texas. Commonly known as the yellow-edged pygarctia, its larvae are known to feed on plants within the Euphorbiaceae and Apocynaceae families. (Ed: GG 2026-08-11)
