2026 Editor's Note: The Ennomos subsignarius, commonly known as the elm spanworm, is a significant forest defoliator that can cause severe ecological impacts. Research indicates that heavy infestations severely reduced the radial growth of the bole in deciduous forest trees, affecting long-term timber health and forest productivity. (Ed: GG 2026-08-11)
