This species, which has often been confounded with the preceding, may easily be distinguished from it by the pale shoulder lappets, the absence of black spots on the under side of the abdomen, and the more evenly colored fore wings, which recall those of E. merianae, from which it is at once distinguished by the absence of the white lateral markings on the abdomen. The species occurs in Florida and Texas.
