This is perhaps the smallest of American whitefishes, rarely reaching a foot in length and 1/2 pound in weight. It has the reputation of being more bony than any other species. Its habitat includes practically all of Alaska except the south-eastern portion. It is little used as food except for dogs. Nothing is known as to its habits.
